چکیده
Water reclamation is becoming a growing need, in particular developing countries where harvesting the required energy can be challenging problem. In this context, exploiting solar specifically tailored membrane distillation (MD) process viable solution. Traditional MD guarantees complete retention of non-volatile compounds and does not require high feed water temperatures. work, suitable amount carbon black (CB) was incorporated into whole matrix polymeric porous order to absorb light directly heat feed. The mixed membranes were prepared forming uniform CB dispersion PVDF dope solution then using non-solvent induced phase separation process, which well-established technique for manufacturing. addition found beneficial on both structure, as it increased pore size porosity, photothermal properties matrix. fact, temperatures 60 °C reached irradiated surface. These improvements led satisfactory distillate flux (up 2.3 L/m2h) during direct tests performed with artificial sources make type promising candidate practical applications field purification.

Nanocomposite Ultrafiltration Membranes Incorporated with Zeolite and Carbon Nanotubes for Enhanced Water Separation
The objective of this work is to develop a new class of nanocomposite ultrafiltration (UF) membranes with excellent solute rejection rate and superior water flux using zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The effect of ZIF-8 and MWCNTs loadings on the properties of polyvinyldifluoride (PVDF)-based membrane were investigated by introducing respecti...
متن کاملPreparation and characterization of poly(vinylidene fluoride)/nanoclay nanocomposite flat sheet membranes for abrasion resistance.
Membranes with more resilience to abrasive wear are highly desired in water treatment, especially for seawater desalination. Nanocomposite poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/nanoclay membranes were prepared by phase inversion and then tested for abrasion resistance. Their material properties were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),...
